La Letra con Sangre Entra (IV) / The Letter With Blood Enter (IV)

Conseguimos a nuestros informadores donde sea posible. Muchos osn personas desagradables, y algunos podrían incluso calificarse de despreciables, pero, de todos modos son seres humanos que aún conservan reacciones naturales y humanas. Y aunque, al parecer, el remoquete les venga, no les hace gracia ser tratados de delator, acusón, soplón, rata, ni cualesquiera otros términos semejantes. (…)
Muchas dependencias y organizaciones policíacas están adoptando medidas tendientes a corregir esta situación. En sus informes oficiales, ya no se hace mención de soplones o delatores. Informador es la palabra más fuerte que se admite, pero muchos de nosotros creemos que (…) debería eliminarse la palabra informador puesto que tiene connotaciones tan humillantes. Podríamos substituírla por términos como fuente o querellante o empleado especial o algún otro eufemismo.

We obtain our informers wherever possible. Many are unpleasant people, and some of them would be able even to qualified as despicable, but, after all they are human beings that still conserve human and natural reactions. And although, the surname fit them, they don´t like to be named as stoolie, telltale, rat, or any other similar terms. (…)
Many departments and police organizations are adopting measures tending toward correcting this situation. In their official reports, they no longer mention of "rats" or "stoolies". "Informer" is the strongest word admitted, but many of us believe that (…) even that world should be eliminated since the word has humiliating connotations. We could substitute it for terms as "source", "plaintiff", "special employed" or some another euphemism.
